The Story Behind Blissiree

Terri Bowman
Founder of Blissiree | Creator of the Positive Auditory Stimuli Method | Co-Founder, Research Institute for Brain Health
For nearly two decades, Terri Bowman has worked at the intersection of the brain, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing — supporting people navigating anxiety, trauma, overwhelm, and chronic stress.
But her work didn’t begin with a breakthrough. It began with something far more familiar… a question that didn’t quite make sense.
Why is it that people can understand what’s going on… and still find themselves feeling the same?
The Moment That Changed Direction
People were gaining insight. They could understand their triggers, explain their thoughts, and make sense of their experiences.
And yet — in real life — the same
emotional responses kept returning.
- It wasn’t a lack of awareness.
- It wasn’t a lack of effort.
Something deeper was driving these patterns.
- This realisation marked a shift —
- from focusing on what people think…
- to understanding how the brain responds.
Discovering the Unconscious Brain
What Terri began to explore was the part of the brain most people never consciously access.
- The unconscious.
- The part that runs patterns automatically.
- The part that reacts before you have time to think.
- The part that holds emotional memory, learned behaviour, and survival responses.
- Because when you look closely, this is where lasting change either happens… or doesn’t.
- This realisation became a turning point.

From Exploration to Innovation
In 2006, Terri travelled to the UK and Germany to study specialised Hybrid Kinesiology, deepening her understanding of the brain–body connection.
Over the years that followed, she worked with thousands of individuals not just observing symptoms, but recognizing deeper patterns in how people responded, how the brain held onto certain emotional states, and most importantly, what truly created lasting change.
Through this work, Terri developed the Positive Auditory Stimuli Method — a structured brain retraining approach designed to support the formation of new neural pathways and healthier emotional patterns.
As the creator of this method, her focus was clear:
To develop an approach that works with the brain — not against it.
An approach grounded not in willpower…
but in how the brain naturally learns, adapts, and changes.
From One-to-One Work to a Bigger Vision
As the results became more consistent, demand grew.
In 2016, Terri opened her first Brain Wellness Spa in South Perth.
By 2018, a second location followed.
By this stage, her work had supported thousands of people — reinforcing a simple but powerful truth:
When the brain changes, everything changes.
But there was a limitation.
Change often required ongoing, consistent input — something that couldn’t always be maintained through one-on-one sessions alone.
And for many people, that ongoing support simply wasn’t accessible.
This became the next question:
How do you make this work available… not just to some people, but to anyone who needs it?
The Birth of Blissiree
In 2020, development began on a digital platform designed to make brain retraining simple, accessible, and effortless to begin.
By 2022, that vision became Blissiree.

A platform built around one core idea:
Change doesn’t have to come from effort — it can begin in moments of rest.
Through structured audio experiences, Blissiree brings brain retraining into daily life — helping the mind gradually shift toward calm, safety, and balance.
Expanding the Science
In 2024, Terri co-founded the Research Institute for Brain Health (RIBH) in the United States.
The goal was clear:
To support ongoing research into neuroplasticity-based approaches and explore how structured brain retraining methods can contribute to emotional wellbeing.
This work continues to build on both clinical observation and emerging scientific research — helping to better understand how the brain adapts, learns, and changes over time.
A Journey That Continues
How do we create real, lasting change — not just insight?
For many, the answer begins quietly.
Not through force.
Not through constant effort.
But through allowing the brain to change — in its own time, and in its own way.
