The Science Behind Blissiree
Backed by Research. Designed for Genuine Change.
Blissiree is built on an expanding body of research exploring how the brain can change, adapt, and form new patterns over time.
At the core of this approach is neuroplasticity — the brain's natural ability to reorganise itself by creating new neural pathways in response to repeated input.
This is what makes change possible.
And it's the foundation of brain retraining.
Understanding the Brain
and Emotional Patterns
Many emotional responses are not driven solely by conscious thought.
They are shaped by deeper patterns within the brain — patterns that influence how we feel, react, and interpret the world around us.

It's why so many people find themselves thinking:
- "I know what to do… but I still feel the same."
- These responses aren't simply habits.
- They are learned neural pathways that have been reinforced over time.
Blissiree is designed to work at this deeper level — where those patterns are formed and stored.
The Role of Positive Auditory Stimuli (PAS)
Blissiree uses structured Positive Auditory Stimuli (PAS) — carefully developed auditory input designed to deliver consistent, repeated signals to the brain.
Over time, this repetition may support the formation of new neural pathways associated with:
- Calm
- Emotional balance
- Reduced reactivity
- Improved overall wellbeing
Unlike approaches that rely on conscious effort or constant self-regulation, PAS works with the unconscious brain — where many automatic emotional responses originate.

This allows the process to feel less effortful and more natural over time.
Why Audio Works
The brain continues to process sound, even during rest and sleep.
This creates a unique opportunity to provide structured input without requiring focus, effort, or active participation.

Blissiree is designed to be used:
- While resting
- Or at whisper volume during sleep
For many people, this is where it feels different.
There's nothing to push through.
Nothing to figure out.
Just a simple process that fits into everyday life.
Research Supporting Positive Auditory Stimuli
The Positive Auditory Stimuli method has been explored through observational research and real-world application.
In a published study in the European Journal of Medical and Health Sciences, researchers examined 535 participants who completed a structured brain retraining programme.
Participants completed validated psychological assessments before and after the intervention, including measures of:
Stress
Anxiety
Self-esteem
Emotional wellbeing
The results showed statistically significant improvements across multiple areas, including:
Self-esteem
Anxiety and stress levels
Emotional wellbeing
Overall psychological state

While further large-scale research is recommended, these findings provide early support for the potential effectiveness of repeated auditory brain retraining approaches.
PTSD Case Study – First Responders
A recent case study, led by Terri Bowman and Dr Karen F. Vieira, explored the effects of Positive Auditory Stimuli on police officers experiencing post-traumatic stress.
Participants completed a 14-session brain retraining programme alongside nightly use of the Blissiree app.
Standardised psychological measures included:
- The Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale
- The Penn State Worry Questionnaire
- The Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9)
- The International Trauma Questionnaire
The study reported statistically significant improvements in stress-related outcomes following the intervention.

About Dr Karen F. Vieira
Is a medical scientist and co-founder of the Research Institute for Brain Health, helping guide the evidence-informed foundation behind Blissiree. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology) from the University of Florida College of Medicine, with additional qualifications in management and molecular biology. Her experience spans academia and industry, including her role as a senior research scientist at Kraft Foods.
She is also the founder of The Med Writers, supporting global organisations including NIH, FDA, and leading pharmaceutical companies.
At Blissiree, Dr Vieira supports the science behind the Positive Auditory Stimuli Method — ensuring the approach aligns with how the brain adapts and changes over time, and strengthening the connection between neuroscience and real-world results.
Real-World Application

Blissiree has been used by individuals across a wide range of experiences, including:
- Stress and overwhelm
- Anxiety and worry
- Low mood
- Emotional dysregulation
- Trauma-related responses
It has also been explored within structured programmes and practical environments, including work with first responders.

A Balanced, Evidence-Informed Approach
Blissiree is grounded in emerging research and real-world application.
While early findings are promising, brain retraining remains a developing field, and ongoing research continues to explore its full potential.
Blissiree is not intended to replace medical or psychological care, but to support emotional wellbeing in a gentle and accessible way.
A Gentle and Consistent Process
Blissiree is not about forcing change.
It is designed to work with your brain in a natural, supportive, and consistent way.
Over time, small, repeated inputs may lead to meaningful shifts in how you feel, respond, and experience life.
